Caterpillars Montessori

Caterpillars Montessori Pre-School provides an environment where children can flourish and grow. We give them the confidence and skills they need to spread their wings and soar when the time comes to start school.

Monkey Music Fleet

Pre School Music classes, for ages 12 weeks up to school age.

Our classes run for 30 minutes and include playing instruments, singing original and well known songs, moving and dancing and having fun with sensory props and toys. Our classes follow a fun age appropriate topics throughout, which change every half term.

Your first trial class is FREE and bookable via the website. Join us at any point within the term. We operate 4 different groups on a Monday at the

 Victoria Hall.

Once you are signed up to our classes on a termly basis, we offer catch up classes, so if you can’t make your normal class for any reason, if you get in touch with us to let us know you are welcome to swap to a different class you can make as a catch up, this way your little one doesn’t miss out on any Monkey Music fun throughout the term

Music with Mummy

A Music education programme for preschool children.

Take your child on a musical journey from birth until they go to school. Enjoy music, singing, dancing and special time with your little one. Music with Mummy incorporates loads of catchy original songs as well as traditional nursery rhymes. We also encourage vocabulary development through song, listening skills, movement to beat, instrument playing and gross motor development for babies.

Jolly Babies is specifically designed for the 1s and under while Music with Mummy is for ages 1 to 4.

Tumble Tots

Our progressive play programme is designed to develop your child’s physical skills. Using bespoke colourful equipment, we focus on agility, balance, climbing and co-ordination, which enhances brain development and builds confidence.

Every session is supervised by our amazing specially-trained staff, getting the best out of each child. Up until 3 years, grown-ups participate as well so that parents, carers and even grandparents can spend time with little ones as they develop.

We hold the following classes on Thursdays – term time only:

09:30 – 12:35  6 months to walking

10:35 – 11.20  Walking to 2 years

11:35 – 12.20  2 – 3 Years

09:30 – 13.20  3 years to school age

Tea Dance

Tea danceOur dance classes have been running for over 30 years. We cover ballroom and sequence dances as well as providing tasty tea and biscuits. Further more, dancing is an excellent way to keep the brain and body active.

Fitness and Wellbeing

Phoenix Martial Arts

Class demonstrating martial arts.Kickboxing takes place on Tuesday and Thursday evenings in two groups:

  1. 6.30pm – 7.30pm for 4 to 12 year olds with the aim of introducing Kickboxing and Kungfu, and to develop through the dan belt syllabus.
  2. 7.45pm – 9.15pm on Tuesdays and 7.30pm to 9.00pm on Thursdays for all other ages.

Hook Brazilian Jiu Jitsu

BJJ (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu) is a grappling art in which the goal is to use leverage, angle and technique to control a resisting opponent which ultimately leads to a submission (your opponent tapping out, and submitting). BJJ was made for the smaller person to be able to control, submit or escape a much bigger untrained opponent.

Sue Lott’s Exercise Classes

Sue Lott's Exercise ClassesClasses are Pilates based with a warm up, stretch, mat work and cool down / relaxation. Suitable for beginners to intermediate and aim to improve awareness, strength and flexibility. Friday’s sessions are slower paced and contain mindfulness with closer emphasis on good alignment and execution.

Hartley Arts Group (HAG)

Hartley Arts Group (HAG) has held productions in the Victoria Hall for many years. We put on three major drama productions a year and a further Christmas show where we showcase our HAG Rocks Choir.

Our Summer show is ‘Confusions’. There are 4 interlinked one act plays. Each play deals riotously with human eccentricities, so why not enjoy a memorable evening with our hugely talented group of actors.

Ruby’s Vintage & Retro Fair

We are two vintage-loving friends who back in 2012 decided to take a break from our corporate lives to start an event which we would enjoy selling at. Ruby’s was named after Lyn’s 1938 Vauxhall 14/6 car and she will sometimes park outside the venue to advertise the event and add to the atmosphere for everyone. We currently organise fairs in Berkshire, Oxfordshire, Hampshire & Buckinghamshire. Our stallholders sell a wide variety of vintage and retro items including clothes, homeware, jewellery and furniture.

We hope to see you at Ruby’s Vintage & Retro Fair at the Victoria Hall on:

U3A art classA friendly art class welcoming all levels where we use oil, watercolour, acrylics and pastels. At the beginning of the class our tutor, Liz Gynn, demonstrates an aspect of art. After that, we either build on that technique or work on our own. Liz does a great job of helping, advising and encouraging us.

Anyone who is familiar with the basics of Bridge is welcome to join us and we play ‘Duplicate Bridge’. We play to win and to learn but fun is the main aim.

U3A photography classOur meetings usually begin with members exhibiting their photos. After that, we discuss and provide constructive feedback to help us improve. Finally, we listen to a tutorial covering an aspect of photography and occasionally we go on a field trip.
