The Victoria and Jubilee Halls trustees work hard to raise money for the halls to ensure their survival. This is because they believe the halls provide crucial entertainment services to the Hartley Wintney community.

Meet the Victoria and Jubilee Halls Trustees

Below you can view the trustees and find out a little bit about them.

Edward Woods - Trustee Chairman
Trustee Chairman
Edward Woods, Chairman of the Victoria and Jubilee Halls since 2017. Educated in UK and USA before spending 30 years in the Army with the Scots Guards. In 2000 I set up an education charity for young people not achieving at school and on retiring in 2013 it had 15,000 students and 1,000 volunteers.
Derek Smee - Trustee
Trustee
A trustee for the Victoria and Jubilee Halls since 2015. Born in London, school days spent in Grays Thurrock, Essex. I trained for 2 years to be an airline pilot and flew 36 years for British Airways. I have been a resident of Hartley Wintney since 1982.
Trustee
I am a chartered accountant and have lived in Hartley Wintney for 25 years with my wife and two sons. For over 30 years I have worked in senior roles in food companies in the UK and overseas supplying major retailers. I now work part time and am pleased to have the opportunity to join a dedicated group of volunteers helping to run the charity for the benefit of the local community.
Cassandra Dartnell - Trustee
Trustee
For 18 years I worked within the travel and hospitality, event management and software marketing industries. I now manage my own company, An Eye for Detail Events, which specialises in all types of event management.
Trustee
I have retired from a career in the construction industry and from my university posts. I am now enjoying life of freedom from corporate pressure to helping in the community. I was brought up overseas and continue to enjoy travelling when we are able.
Trustee
A Hartley Whitney resident since early 2019 and a Trustee since 2020. I am retired from the IT industry where I fulfilled senior Sales and Marketing roles in a variety of industries after an early career in product development. I have experience in community involvement and the voluntary sector.
Trustee
I spent over 40 years working for Shell, mainly in Human Resources.  I have been a trustee with Shell’s Benevolent Fund, offering support to their pensioners in need, for more than 10 years.  Since retiring in 2009 we moved from Surrey and lived in rural Kent before relocating to Hartley Wintney in March 2021.
Trustee
I have lived in Hartley Wintney for over 30 years with my wife Sue and our three children. Post Covid, seemingly like many people, I realised that my passion for corporate life had faded and made the decision to concentrate on new activities. So far these include taking my love of tennis into a new area by becoming a LTA qualified coach and by volunteering as a Trustee at The Victoria Hall Charity in Hartley Wintney - where I am applying my knowledge of live events to help our local community.
