A Hartley Whitney resident since early 2019 and a Trustee since 2020. I am retired from the IT industry where I fulfilled senior Sales and Marketing roles in a variety of industries after an early career in product development. I have experience in community involvement and the voluntary sector.
After an apprenticeship with GPO telecoms, I spent almost 40 years working for American office equipment and computer companies. On retirement from this, my wife and I set up and ran the village sweetshop for 5 years finally retiring fully in 2016. I’ve lived in Hartley Wintney for the last 8 years.
I became involved with the Victoria Hall in 2014 and a trustee in 2017. I grew up in Denmark where I qualified and worked as a nurse before coming to the UK in 1978. I continued nursing part-time so I could train to become a swimming teacher. I taught swimming at Hart Leisure Centre for 20 years.
I am a chartered accountant and have lived in Hartley Wintney for 25 years with my wife and two sons. For over 30 years I have worked in senior roles in food companies in the UK and overseas supplying major retailers. I now work part time and am pleased to have the opportunity to join a dedicated group of volunteers helping to run the charity for the benefit of the local community.
